Thue W. Schwartz
Chief Scientific Officer
Thue Schwartz works part time at 7TM Pharma and in parallel maintains his position as Professor of Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Copenhagen.
Previously, he held positions as Research Professor at the Danish Medical Research Council and Research Director in corporate research at Novo Nordisk A/S, where he was leading the departments of computational chemistry, molecular genetics, and molecular pharmacology. Thue Schwartz has published more than 200 scientific papers (8 of which in Nature or Science) and has received many prices including the Jahre Price (Oslo 1990), the Viktor Mutt Award (Santa Barbara, 1994), the Lundbeck Foundation Price (1999) and the Novo Nordisk Foundation Price (2001).
Since 1994 he has been a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences. Thue Schwartz has served on the board of several Biotech companies, including NeuroSearch A/S and Profound Pharma A/S (Maxygen DK from 1999), of which he was co-founder. He has also served on the scientific advisory board of a number of Danish and US Biotech companies and is currently a member of the SAB of AnorMED (Langley, BC, Canada). Thue Schwartz was on the advisory board of BankInvest from 1992 and of the Biotech venture funds of BankInvest from 1997 and is a founder and special advisor of Nordic Biotech venture funds. He has been on the editorial board of various high-profile scientific journals including Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology.
Professor Schwartz holds an MD from and a DMSc from University of Copenhagen.
